Privacy Policy

What we collect

  • Account data: name, email, password (hashed).
  • Profile & résumé: the professional details, résumé, and application answers you provide — including optional EEO fields (veteran, disability, sponsorship, clearance) you choose to enter to complete applications.
  • Mailbox access (optional): if connected, we read recent messages only to extract verification codes/links. Mailbox credentials are encrypted at rest.
  • Usage & applications: jobs you view/save/apply to, and activity needed to run the service.
  • Payment data: handled by Stripe; we store only a customer/subscription reference, never full card numbers.

How we use it

To match you to jobs, tailor your résumé, submit applications you authorize, run Autopilot, process payments, send account and (optional) marketing email, and improve the service. We do not sell your personal data.

Who we share it with

Employers/job sites when you apply (the information you chose to submit); and service providers that run the product: Stripe (payments), our email provider, job-data providers, and Anthropic (AI processing of your résumé and application answers). Providers are bound to use data only to provide their service.

AI processing

Your résumé and application answers may be sent to an AI provider (Anthropic) to tailor content and answer application questions. The AI is instructed to use only the facts you provide and never to invent qualifications.

Email choices

Account and application emails are transactional. Marketing/newsletter emails are optional — every one includes a one-click unsubscribe, and you can opt out anytime in Settings.

Security & retention

We use encryption for sensitive fields (mailbox credentials) and hash passwords. We keep your data while your account is active; deleting your account removes your personal data, subject to limited legal/financial retention.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your data. You can export/delete from Settings or contact us. Requests: privacy@handitover.app.
